Lincoln City FC Sport & Education Trust would like to congratulate Finlay Armond and Haydn Havard, who signed for the Lincoln City FC Boys Centre of excellence last week. Both boys attended the
Sport & Education Trust's Advanced Player Development Centre. The Advanced PDC is the bridging gap between the Player Development Centre and the Boys Centre Of Excellence. High achievers at the PDCs are invited to come to the advanced centre, training on a Monday night and taking part in a games programme against other professional clubs, Development Centres, and also LCFC Centre of Excellence. Advanced PDC coach Lee Rostron said “both boys have worked really hard with their football and deserve their chance to play at the top level in LCFC’s youth department”.
Our Advanced Player Development Centre also took on the Forest Grassroots team this half term. The games were played at Coddington & Winthorpe playing fields where Forest had a development day. The ADVANCED PDC had two teams in action; Under 10’s & 12’s. Advanced PDC coach Lee Rostron & Community Manager Richard Cooper took the teams for the day. The Advanced Centre also played their first games of the season with the
U10’s & U12’s both in action against the LCFC Boys Centre of Excellence. Both games were a great spectacle to watch with players from both age groups putting in fantastic performances.
The games were very competitive with teams having lots of chances at either end. The under 10’s played 8-a-side on a mini soccer pitch whilst the under 12’s played 11-a-side on a full size pitch. Both age groups tried to put into practice their learning focus of the past term, and were very successful in doing so. There was some fantastic football played with both teams trying to play through thirds, creating and scoring lots of chances. The positive attitude from the boys was amazing to see. Both Lee and Richard couldn’t have asked any more. This was the first time we’ve played against another development centre, and the afternoon was a great success.
We now look forward to other matches against the LCFC Boys Centre of
Excellence and Boston United’s Development Centre before Christmas.
