The final of the Domino’s Cup Tournament was played on
a very warm Saturday afternoon, during the half time of the Lincoln City v
Gillingham game.
The game started off with South Hykeham dominating, coming close to goal with a couple of efforts from Max Harding, with one header just going over the crossbar. Navenby then hit back with several shots from Haydn Havard, Charlie West and Joseph Twigg all saved brilliantly by South Hykeham’s goalkeeper.
Haydn Havard then scored two goals in quick succession, both being fantastically struck, left-footed shots into the corner of the goal. Navenby had other chances to extend their lead but the final whistle went and the game ended 2-0. So Navenby Primary are Champions of the Domino’s Cup Half-Time Tournament 2011.
