Monday April 4th saw a day of celebration for staff and pupils of St Hughs Catholic Primary School, as they were given the opportunity to take shots at LCFC Goalkeeping Coach Paul Musselwhite and FA Centre of Excellence Head Goalkeeping Coach Jon Schimmel-Biggs, as a reward for raising so much sponsorship money, as part of the hotshots initiative. Fifty per cent of the £1600 raised by pupils will be donated to Lincoln City FC Sport & Education Trust, and the remaining fifty per cent goes to the school who have decided to split the money in two. Of this money, a further half (25% of the total) will go to the school's pupil council who will decide at a later date, what to spend the money on (possibly equipment), with the remainder going to the school's chosen charity.
When asked 'What did you enjoy most about Fifty50?', the winners had the following to say, "I liked getting their autographs to keep in my bedroom. I was glad to get top prize" - Danny Lawless (who raised a whopping £286.50). "I felt really good because I thought I wouldn't score, but I did. I got it over his head. I was pleased I got the opportunity and would love to do it again" - James McDonnell (who raised £70). "My favorite part of the day was scoring past a real LCFC goalkeeper. I scored one goal which was cool because I have never scored before in football" - Jude Byers (who raised £41.50).
Pictured, Left to Right, the five winners were - Georgia Haughton, James McDonnell, Danny Lawless, Jack Hughes, and Jude Byers. The five pupils from different classes had the choice of a signed football, or a World Cup history book as a reward for their great work. Miss Piperissa's Year 4/5 class managed to raise the most in the whole school, and received a Lincoln City FC pen as a reward. We would like to take this opportunity to thank everyone who took part.
