Inside Right Project

Inside Right participants

The Inside Right project is aimed at ex-service men and women who are on low-income, isolated, long term unemployment, or find themselves vulnerable in society.

Damon Parkinson, Disability Officer, said ‘The aim of the 'Inside Right' project is to encourage ex-service men and women, aged 20-50, to meet up in a fun and friendly environment and become part of a weekly football session. It will be a great way to keep fit and healthy, while socialising with other ex-service personnel. As well as playing matches there will also be the chance to get involved with football coaching, through volunteering, and the opportunity to gain qualifications. In addition to this, there are opportunities to get involved behind the scenes at the club.

Lincoln City was chosen as one of only five clubs nationally to deliver this project along with Portsmouth, Colchester, Everton and Chelsea. The sessions are completely free, as the programme is being funded by the Football Foundation, The Royal British Legion, Comic Relief, The Ministry of Defence, ABF The Soldiers Charity and the RAF Benevolent Fund. All sessions take place on the 3G astroturf at Sincil Bank. They run every Thursday between 12-2pm. There is no need to book in advance, though you will need to provide a few basic details before taking part in the session.
