Young members of Strut were treated to a coaching session and ground tour on Monday morning to start their week of activities. Strut is a local charity that works with young people providing a variety of activities for people with disabilities. Some of the activities include afterschool clubs, holiday activities and weeks away from home. The activities are based around fun and friendship. So when Strut contacted us here at Community Imps we were more than happy to help them with one of their summer activities.
The group got a behind the scenes tour which started in the changing area moving onto the gym, physio rooms, referee room and interview suite. Soon after they found themselves in our executive boxes looking at the fantastic view of the cathedral and then off into the stadium to have a look at the press area and dugouts.
The tour ended with the group heading on to the Astroturf for an hour long coaching session where the groups took part in some jumping, dribbling and passing games before they kicked off the small sided game to finish the morning off. Ella Turney STRUT's Office Manager Said "We have had a fantastic day at Lincoln City Football Club. The young people have thoroughly enjoyed themselves and hopefully we have some footballers among them!" "A really informative and fun day, the children got a lot out of it and were completely gripped throughout. There was lots to do and we had time for a good match at the end." Said Markus Wilson a member of Strut's care team.
